Main Purpose of Job Working under the direction of the Director of Communications to coordinate communications activity worldwide, including media, publishing, website, visual resources brand, visual identity, house writing style, and celebrity management.
Position in Organisation • Reporting to the Director of Communications • Close liaison with Senior Management Team at HQ • Line management responsibility for the Head of Media and Website Manager • Functional management responsibility for the public relations work Campaigns & PR Managers worldwide • Coordination of international communications initiatives with regional offices* third parties • Liaison with staff worldwide, external agencies, members societies, and other external stakeholders as appropriate.
Scope of job • Coordination of the communications activity worldwide • Coordination of the production and distribution of communications materials • Provide global coordination of media, publications, website and brand. • Drive brand development and enforcement globally. • Provide high-level interdepartmental guidance and support for publications and branding.
Dimensions & Limits of Authority • Global authority for coordination of media, publications, website and brand. • Responsible for sign-off on press releases, video news releases, publications and website material • Management of Communications section (i.e. media, publications, website, visual resources, brand) budget • Decision-maker over external service providers relating to the Communications section budget
Qualifications • Educated to degree level or equivalent (essential)
Experience • Minimum of five years working in a communications role (essential) • Minimum of five years experience in media relations (essential) • Experience in international media relations (preferable) • Experience in managing a staff team (preferable) • Excellent communications skills (written, oral and presentation) • Excellent networking and representation skills (essential) • Sensitive to social and cultural issues (essential)
